HLG is also deeply engaged in the Orange County Superintendent’s Special Education Alliance. Since its inception, Mr. Harbottle has served on a pro bono basis as a member of the Alliance, a Joint Powers Authority charged with addressing those unique issues arising in the education of students with special needs. The Alliance focuses heavily on staff development and community outreach, and HLG members have presented seminars on behalf of the Alliance and on April 17, 2009, Mr. Harbottle was elected to another two-year term on the Alliance Review Committee.
Additionally, Mr. Harbottle was selected in August 2009 to serve on the California Office of Administrative Hearings Advisory Committee, which advises the Office of Administrative Hearings on special education due process and mediation procedures.
